JCC Digital Image Critique Program

This program was announced via email from our club president, Young McQueen. See email content for details:

A JCC program is planned to critique member's images. The "judge" is not yet chosen but we wanted to go ahead and accumulate the images to be critiqued. We have done this in the past as either a blind critique (maker unknown) or with the maker identified. This time we are combining the concepts and giving you the choice to include or exclude your name.
Please use JPG format. We are not rejecting images due to size but sizes over 1920 px wide or 1080 px high are overkill since we are using HD format to view.
Please name the images as follows:
For Blind Critique:
    1. First Image: A Moon Over St. Augustine.jpg
    2. Second Image: B Street Image.jpg
    3. Subsequently: C River Tiger.jpg, etc
For Non-Blind Critique:
    1. First Image: A Moon Over St. Augustine - Jane Doe.jpg
    2. Second Image: B Street Image - Jane Doe.jpg
    3. Subsequently: C River Tiger - Jane Doe.jpg, etc
You may choose Blind or Non-Blind or a combination. You may send more images later just follow the A B C protocol— do not repeat a letter.
The beginning letters will allow all members to have an equal chance of having their images viewed/critiqued. We will do A's, then B's, etc.
You may submit up to twelve images. Probably best to limit each upload to six but we have not tested this. Feel free to try what works. You will not break anything. . . probably.
The link to upload your images follows. You will note this is very simple. Upload Image Here

Why Didn't I Win A Ribbon?

Christine Cook and FCCC are offering a free educational program to JCC members.

The Zoom session will be anonymous critiques of entries which did not win an award from 4th quarter, 2019.

The Zoom meeting will be held on June 3, 2020, at 4:30p.m. If you would like to join the group, register on the JCC blog "Why Didn't I Win a Ribbon", or use the link below. If you have registered, information and a link to the meeting will be sent to you.

People's Choice

Since the People's Choice contest has been on hiatus as long as we have been unable to meet in person, Tina Jordan would like feedback on how to handle the contest once we resume meetings.

Do you want the contest to continue as-is, resuming at our first in person meeting?  Perhaps you'd recommend somehow distancing the photos for review and voting? Do you see a virtual-style contest in our future?  Or, shall we let sleeping dogs lie and resume the contest in 2021?

Please send your thoughts and ideas about the future of our People's Choice contest to Tina via email at:

No idea is too crazy or far-fetched.  Tina really wants to hear them all!  (P.S. - Tina doesn't always check email EVERY day, so if you don't get a reply, please don't worry.  She will be collecting and reviewing ALL of your messages!)

2020 Schedules

Please keep a close eye on the Schedules page for information about our changing programs, contests and outings. Jeff Garbow, our new program chair, along with his program committee are hard at work creating new dates for some of our past programs.  Please be patient as we work through all of the details during this challenging time!

Information of Interest

Chat Forum is Live!

We are testing a new feature of the website.  You must be registered for the website and logged in to view this new Chat Forum.  On the members menu, you'll find a new option for this page.  Click on the "Chat Forum" menu option (to the right of "Nexus").

With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, we want to give all club members a way to stay in touch, even if virtual is your personal choice.  The only information found there will be created by other users, so give it a try!

There are going to be "bugs" in this system.  Please let the Webmaster know if something isn't working properly.

P.S. - ALL formal club information will still be communicated on the website Blog and Schedules pages, via direct email, and/or through this newsletter, The Weekly.
