Milky Way Tutorial by Photo Pills on June 9 and more free classes June 10 and 12

Since the Outing Chair talked about scheduling an outing to Okeefenokee during our May meeting, I wanted to bring your attention to a June 9 presentation by PhotoPills app titled “How to Create Stunning Milky Way Panoramas.” For those of you who are unacquainted with the PhotoPills app, it can be purchased on the App Store and on the Google Play store. It is a phone app that helps one get photographs by setting up your geographic coordinates as well as the date and time so that you can get a great shot of the moon, stars, sunrise, etc. at a certain time of year and a specific place.

It is a complicated app and will take a good deal of time and practice to get comfortable with it, but it is really helpful. The Photopills company sponsors many tutorials and then they park them on YouTube for your continued viewing pleasure.

The June 9, 2021 class is specifically for shooting the Milky Way.  I am hoping that the Outing Chair schedules a Milky Way shoot this year, but if not 2021, there is always next year. The PhotoPills class is going to cover not only the photography essentials but also suggested gear. You can find all the information concerning PhotoPills on their website and the information on the class is included in the Table below.
